The Ise Plan

Embark on your joy-filled journey beginning in vibrant Tokyo, where modern energy meets mindful intention. From there, we’ll travel to the serene coastal beauty of Ise-Shima, immersing ourselves in nature, reflection and the gentle art of letting go with gratitude. Our final days unfold in the timeless elegance of Kyoto, where ancient temples and quiet gardens inspire deep clarity.   Along the way, guided by the principles Marie herself lives by, you'll rejuvenate your spirit — returning home not only lighter, but truly aligned with what sparks joy.

The Kanazawa Plan

May 23 – May 30, 2026

Includes check in on evening of May 23 and check out on morning of May 30

Begin your joy-sparking journey in the tranquil beauty of Kyoto, where timeless temples and mindful traditions set the tone for intentional living. 

From there, travel to the artful city of Kanazawa before settling into the peaceful hot spring village of Yamashiro Onsen for transformative KonMari Consultant-led workshops — a time to reflect, release, and realign with what truly matters. Continue on to the village of Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO world heritage site nestled in the mountains, where simplicity and serenity inspire deep connection. The journey concludes in vibrant Tokyo, where tradition and innovation intertwine. 

You’ll return home with clarity, calm, and a deep, joyful understanding of the culture and philosophy behind Marie Kondo’s life-changing Method that inspired millions of people around the world to choose joy.

The Ise Plan

May 16: Arrival in Tokyo

  • Arrive at NRT or HND & go to hotel

May 17: Tokyo

  • Visit the beautiful Hamarikyu Garden in Tokyo
  • Enjoy a bonsai workshop at Shunkaen Bonsai Museum
  • Dinner at a Japanese local restaurant

May 18: Tokyo and Ise-Shima

  • Depart the hotel to Tokyo station
  • Board the bullet train to Nagoya
  • Find a joy-sparking place to get lunch on your own at Okage-yokocho and Omotesando, a charming area full of little shops, restaurants, and snacks
  • Visit Ise Shrine, one of Marie's favorite places to go to!
  • Visit Tsubaki Grand Shrine

May 19 and May 20: A Japanese Ryokan in Ise-Shima

  • Marie shares her personal thoughts and gives an exclusive speech to all attendees
  • Cultural experience with Marie!
  • Enjoy a variety of workshops we offer at the Japanese ryokan that you can choose from
  • Have some free time to enjoy leisure on your own; explore the hotel and all the exciting things you can experience there
  • Opportunity to try a Japanese onsen
  • Optional activities such as Ago bay cruise, Spain village, Aquarium, Museums, etc. are also available

May 21: Ise-Shima + Travel to Kyoto

  • Take in the stunning views from Yokoyama Observatory Deck
  • Have a group lunch together at local restaurant
  • Visit the infamous Fushimi Inari Shrine with the beautiful red gates
  • Transfer to Kyoto together as a group

May 22: Kyoto

  • Visit the beautiful Tofukuji Temple
  • Visit Komyoin Temple and immerse yourself in the beauty of Japanese gardens
  • Have a joy-sparking lunch at local restaurant
  • Experience a Japanese Matcha workshop!
  • Visit Byodo-in Temple, a beautiful temple also seen on Japan's 10 yen coin

May 23: Departure from Kyoto

  • Breakfast at hotel

  •  Depart from KIX or ITM to home

  • Visit Heian Jingu Shrine, an important cultural property of Japan famous for its beautiful architecture and Japanese gardens
  • Experience a Matcha workshop, where you'll learn how matcha is made and try it yourself!
  • Visit Byodo-in Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, also seen on the 10 yen coin

May 25: Kanazawa

  • Take the Thunderbird Express
  • Transfer to a Shinkansen to Kanazawa
  • Visit and immerse yourself in Kenrokuen Garden, infamous in Japan as one of the Three Great Gardens of the country!
  • Lunch in Omicho Market
  • Golden leaf craft workshop
  • Higashichaya-gai

May 26: A Japanese Ryokn in an Onsen Village

  • Seminar in Kanazawa with Marie Kondo
  • Marie will be joining you there and will share her thoughts, messages, and joy-sparking energy with you all in an exclusive speach
  • Enjoy a traditional Japanese cultral experience with Marie at the seminar
  • Lunch at hotel
  • Leisure rest of day – Walkable village sights, shopping and activities
  • Dinner at hotel

May 27: A Japanese Ryokn in an Onsen Village

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Free leisure to do what sparks joy for you!

May 28: Shirakawago + Travel to Tokyo
